Board Chair, John DeGrace is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Hall as its new Music Director of the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, effective August 1, 2017. “This is an important milestone in the life of the Symphony,” said DeGrace, “and is the culmination of more than a year’s hard work by the Board’s Search Committee.”
Born and raised in Toronto, Hall has been working as a conductor in the United States since 2002.
Currently in his third season as Music Director of the Kennett Symphony, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Maestro Hall is recognized for his inspired performances, imaginative programming, and passion for developing new audiences.
Formerly Music Director of the Southwest Florida Symphony from 2007 to 2012, Hall’s drive for artistic excellence, innovative thematic programming, and collaborations with celebrated guest artists resulted in unprecedented artistic growth, audience praise, and enthusiastic reviews.
Hall will be moving to Prince George this summer and upon accepting this position said: “I felt an immediate musical connection with your wonderful orchestra. I see such great potential in the organization and I can't wait to get started. Also, being born and raised in Toronto, it is thrilling to come back home and work again in Canada. I look forward to learning more about Prince George and discover the unique qualities of the region.”
